Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards says it’s a blessing to be a part of an institution committed to supporting workers in the television and film industry.
Richard’s journey with the Mowelfund began when he received a letter from one of the board trustees.
“I was sent a letter by one of the boards. Since I’m in this stage of my career where I’m considering ways to give back to the industry and extend my reach, especially to production workers, I wholeheartedly accepted the offer,” Alden shared.
Seven months into his tenure as the youngest board member, Richards has already spearheaded significant initiatives for the institution.
Teaming up with his company, Myriad Entertainment Corporation, Mowelfund launched an online show called “Mowelfund Sessions.”
Hosted by Alden himself alongside fellow trustee Dingdong Dantes, the ongoing show delves into insightful interviews with members of the Board of Executives and other notable figures in the entertainment industry.
During the celebration of Mowelfund’s 50th anniversary at Bahay ng Alumni on March 15, both Richards and Dantes were formally introduced as the institution’s newest members.
Richards talked about Mowelfund’s annual medical mission and the upcoming gala.
“This will be a year of celebration for Mowelfund po kasi. That’s what the board decided na gawin natin, isang taon since golden anniversary ng Mowelfun and we will celebrate all throughout the year,” Richards expressed.
He also outlined a list of upcoming activities, including fun runs, student congresses, and more.
As a trustee, the actor is responsible for the educational section under the Mowelfund Film Institute.
